Furnace Repair Services in Nara Visa, NM

Yes. Modern thermostats communicate low-voltage signals (24VAC) to the furnace control board. Dead internal batteries, damaged wiring, loose C-wire connections, or faulty internal relays will prevent your furnace from receiving the heating call. Our technicians in Nara Visa, New Mexico test control circuit voltages and can re-wire or recalibrate your thermostat during the service call.

A fractured heat exchanger is a critical safety issue that can contaminate household air with carbon monoxide. Key warning signs include persistent soot streaks around the burner doors, a pungent chemical smell resembling formaldehyde, burner flames that flicker or burn yellow rather than steady blue, and unexplained headaches among household members. We use fiber-optic inspection cameras in Nara Visa, New Mexico to check internal heat exchanger integrity.

Natural gas utilities add mercaptan (a distinctive rotten-egg smell) to help you detect leaks. If you smell gas, evacuate everyone from the house immediately without operating wall switches, phones, or electrical devices that could create an electrical spark. From outside your home in Nara Visa, New Mexico, contact your local gas utility and call (877) 719-1221 for emergency gas valve and line inspection.

During warm summer months, ambient dust settles onto the furnace burners and heat exchanger surfaces. During the first cold snap, this thin layer of dust burns off, producing a mild, transient burning odor that typically disappears within 30 to 45 minutes. If the smell persists, smells of burning plastic/wiring, or produces visible smoke, shut down the system and call (877) 719-1221 immediately.

This symptom is known as short-cycling. The most common culprit is a severely restricted airflow caused by a clogged furnace filter, which traps intense heat inside the cabinet and trips the high-temperature safety switch. Other potential causes include a malfunctioning draft inducer fan, an oversized unit, or a blocked chimney flue exhaust. Our Nara Visa, New Mexico technicians can calibrate and clear the system safely.

Cold air discharge usually points to an extinguished pilot flame, an oxidized flame sensor rod that shuts down the gas valve after a few seconds, an overheated heat exchanger tripping the high-limit switch, or an ignition lock-out. Our certified technicians in Nara Visa, New Mexico utilize digital multimeters and combustion testers to pinpoint the exact failure point and restore comfortable heat.
