Furnace Repair Services Across Colorado

The draft inducer is a small motorized fan that turns on before the burners ignite. Its purpose is to pull combustion air through the heat exchanger and expel toxic exhaust gases safely out the flue vent. A pressure switch verifies that this draft is established; if the inducer motor fails or the vent is blocked, the furnace will lock out as a safety precaution.

During warm summer months, ambient dust settles onto the furnace burners and heat exchanger surfaces. During the first cold snap, this thin layer of dust burns off, producing a mild, transient burning odor that typically disappears within 30 to 45 minutes. If the smell persists, smells of burning plastic/wiring, or produces visible smoke, shut down the system and call (877) 719-1221 immediately.

Our factory-trained technicians carry diagnostic tools and OEM-certified parts for all major brands, including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, York, Bryant, Heil, Ruud, Amana, and Day & Night. Whether your unit is a high-efficiency 96% AFUE condensing model or a standard 80% atmospheric system, we have you covered in Colorado.

Yes! Every Local Furnace Repair Pro service van operates as a mobile supply hub carrying universal hot surface igniters, flame rods, limit switches, dual-stage gas valves, draft inducers, and multi-horsepower blower motors. This enables us to resolve the vast majority of furnace problems on the initial visit.

Yes. The flame sensor sits directly in the burner flame and generates a micro-amp electrical current when heated to prove to the control board that fire is present. Over time, silica and carbon coat the metal rod, preventing flame detection and causing the furnace to shut off its gas valve after 3 to 5 seconds. Cleaning or replacing this sensor is a routine, fast repair for our Colorado specialists.

Natural gas utilities add mercaptan (a distinctive rotten-egg smell) to help you detect leaks. If you smell gas, evacuate everyone from the house immediately without operating wall switches, phones, or electrical devices that could create an electrical spark. From outside your home in Colorado, contact your local gas utility and call (877) 719-1221 for emergency gas valve and line inspection.
