Furnace Repair Services in Bruno, NE

During warm summer months, ambient dust settles onto the furnace burners and heat exchanger surfaces. During the first cold snap, this thin layer of dust burns off, producing a mild, transient burning odor that typically disappears within 30 to 45 minutes. If the smell persists, smells of burning plastic/wiring, or produces visible smoke, shut down the system and call (877) 719-1221 immediately.

This symptom is known as short-cycling. The most common culprit is a severely restricted airflow caused by a clogged furnace filter, which traps intense heat inside the cabinet and trips the high-temperature safety switch. Other potential causes include a malfunctioning draft inducer fan, an oversized unit, or a blocked chimney flue exhaust. Our Bruno, Nebraska technicians can calibrate and clear the system safely.
